Imadegawa Norisue (今出川教季)
Norisue IMADEGAWA (1425 - (January 26, 1484) was a kugyo (court noble) who lived during the Muromachi period. He served Emperor Gohanazono (the 102nd) and then Emperor Gotsuchimikado (the 103rd), and advanced up to Sadaijin (minister of the left) at the rank of Juichii (Junior First Rank). His father was Sanetomi IMADEGAWA, Dainagon (a chief councilor of state). Kintomi IMADEGAWA, Dainagon, was his older brother. A daughter of Nagatoyo TAKAKURA, Chunagon (vice－councilor of state) was his wife. Kinoki IMADEGAWA, Sadaijin, was his son. The lawful wife of Imperial Prince Fushimi no miya Kunitaka was his daughter.
He was conferred to a peerage in 1436. Continued being promoted after that, he was awarded the rank of Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) in 1446, becoming a kugyo, after assuming a post at Konoefu (the headquarters of the inner palace guards), another post at Konoefu, and a post in Mino Province.. He was appointed to Dainagon (chief councilor of state) in 1450, after assuming Sangi (councilor) and Chunagon (vice－councilor of state). He assumed the post of Gon Dainagon (provisional chief councilor of state) for ten years until 1460. During a ten-year period in 1458, he also assumed Naikyobo no Betto (the chief of Naikyobo - posts for teaching singing and dancing) and Choku-betto (literally, a betto - chief officer appointed by an emperor) of an Imperial Prince's family additionally. He was appointed to Gon Dainagon again in 1463. In the same year, he was appointed to a post at Konoefu. Although being appointed to Naidaijin (minister of the Interior) in 1465, he resigned the post in 1466. In 1467, he was awarded the rank of Juichii (Junior First Rank). In 1480, he was appointed to Udaijin (minister of the right). Although being appointed to Sadaijin (minister of the Interior) in 1481, he resigned the post the following year.
